Skyrim has simplified the controls to fit a touchscreen. Most options are on-screen and adapt to whatever your character is doing. If there is a weapon nearby, all you need to do is simply tap the button to pick it up. Some tasks are automated to avoid a mass of buttons taking up the screen. You can also select a range of your favorite spells, weapons, and attack moves which you then tap to use. This makes the layout easier, although the controls are still awkward.
